Wisconsin Schools of Character

The Wisconsin Character Education Partnership is sponsoring the State Schools of Character Award 2008.

 

Wisconsin joins seventeen other states that will hold Schools of Character Awards 2008. The winners of the State Schools of Character Award will advance to the National Schools of Character award (NSOC). Wisconsin will select and recognize schools and districts that exemplify schools of character, according to the NSOC guidelines. They will serve as models for others in the state. Public and private k-12 schools and school districts may apply.

 

In the past, a school or district could apply directly to the Character Education Partnership to be a National School of Character. Now that Wisconsin has a State Schools of Character Award (SSOC), this will not be possible. Please read our guidelines, and those at CEP’s website:

* A school must have been engaged in character education for a minimum of three full years, starting no later than December 2004 for the 2008 awards.  Districts need to have been engaged in character education for a minumum of four full years, starting no later than December 2003 for the 2008 awards.  Schools must have a minimum of 175 students to be eligible.  See the guidelines for further details.
