2007 Wisconsin Promising Practice Awards

Five schools receive the first Wisconsin Promising Practices Award. This award recognizes Wisconsin schools that have promoted character development in their schools.

 

The program is part of the National Schools of Character Awards Program that honors schools and districts across the U.S. for implementing unique and specific strategies to promote character education.

 

The schools selected represent both public and private, and geographically include urban, suburban and rural schools.

Lake Bluff Elementary School ( Shorewood School District)
Milwaukee College Preparatory School (UWM Charter School)
Salam School (private school in Milwaukee)

Selection Criteria for 2007 Promising Practices Awards

The Promising Practice Awards was designed to award schools that had character education programs that were unique and specific.  In addition, the Wisconsin Schools of Character Advisory Committee created a rubric to review the applications according to the following documents:
